World Lighthouse Day: The 18 that will be open to the public on August 18 – 2024-08-08 03:12:59

Citizens will have the opportunity to be informed about the contribution of lighthouses to the safety of navigation, the utilization of the lighthouse network as a cultural heritage, as well as the contribution of lighthouse keepers to the operation of the network in question Sunday, August 18in the framework of World Lighthouse Day.

As it became known from the GEN, on this particular day 18 lighthouses will be open to the public from 10:00-14:00 and 17:00-20:00.

These are the lighthouses:

– Megalo Embolo – Thessaloniki (Access to the tower: YES),

– Arkitsa – Fthiotida (Access to the tower: YES),

– Mudari – Kythira (Access to the tower: NO),

– Pig – Skopelos (Access to the tower: YES),

– Keri – Zakynthos (Access to the tower: YES),

– Kranai – Gythio (Access to the tower: YES),

– Melagavi – Loutraki (Tower access: YES),

– Plaka – Limnos (Access to the tower: NO),

– Koraka – Paros (Access to the tower: NO),

– Alexandroupolis – Alexandroupolis (Access to the tower: NO),

– Tainaro – Laconia (Access to the tower: Only in the surrounding area),

– Bad Head – Chalkida (Tower Access: YES),

– Vasilina – Evia (Access to the tower: NO),

– Dukato – Lefkada (Access to the tower: YES),

– Katakolo – Ilia (Access to the tower: YES),

– Drepano – Patras (Access to the tower: YES) and

– Antirrio Castle – Nafpaktos
