(Belga) Bram Röttger and Helena Heijens won gold in the mixed duet acrobatic gymnastics event at the World Games on Friday in Birmingham, USA. “It was a perfect day,” reacted Röttger to the Belgian Olympic Committee (COIB).
“It’s amazing. We just wanted to do a good program and I think we did it,” Röttger explained. “It was a long day in qualifying but we were still able to put in a good performance in the final.” After winning three world titles last March, Röttger and Heijens were still able to climb to the top step of the podium during these World Games. “It’s unbelievable, I’m very happy. I don’t realize what we’ve achieved yet,” said Helena Heijens. “It was a perfect day. We worked for months and we were rewarded for it. It’s an incredible feeling,” concluded Röttger. (Belga)
