Jean-Pierre Letartre is the president of the World Forum Lille. And last night had only one message to convey at the end of the first of the two days of the event at the Cité marquoise des Échanges.
– What can we learn from this new meeting on corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSR)?
“That we collectively find ourselves on a path that must lead many business leaders to transform their model, to reduce their climate footprint. These leaders, small or large, are currently facing numerous problems, recruitment, cash flow, international market closures due to the geopolitical context, etc. But I tell them, be careful, let’s not stop on the path to ecological transition. To stop because of the pressure of the short term, of crises to be managed urgently, would be to fall, it would be suicidal.”
– How can the World Forum help them?
“By sharing testimonies and experiences in large forums like today (mardi). But also by going to see them at their homes, nearby. The World Forum is not just in Lille, once a year in November. We went to meetings throughout the year in Valenciennes, Arras, Douai or Saint-Omer, each time with people, therefore success. There is a real demand for understanding the issues, illustrated by good practices in all sectors. We will continue “.
