Chelsea Football Club announced, on Saturday, in an official statement, a deal that resulted in the transfer of its ownership to an alliance headed by American businessman, Todd Boley, which includes in addition to Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansorg Weiss.

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich was forced to sell his “London Pride” as a result of Britain’s restrictions on Russian businessmen following Putin’s forces invaded Ukraine.

And Chelsea Football Club published a statement on its official website, saying: “Chelsea announces the purchase of Todd Boeley of the club and that he is the new owner. Chelsea Football Club can confirm that the terms for a new ownership group have been agreed to acquire the club led by Todd Boley, Klerlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjorg Weiss.” .

Chelsea had reached an agreement in the past hours with the Todd Boley alliance to sell the club for 2.5 million pounds ($3.08 billion), with the new owners obligated to pay 1.75 billion pounds to invest in the club.

On the other hand, the German team coach, Thomas Tuchel, explained that the club’s players were affected by the penalties, which caused a decline in his level, but he denied that this was an excuse for the decline in results.

“This affects the team, of course, but I can’t say to what degree,” he said in a press conference ahead of his visit to Verhampton, today, Saturday.

He continued, “This decision has left an impact in the dressing room, and is a huge part, and the future of each individual is not clear because there are no negotiations with anyone… It is important not to take this as an excuse.”

He continued, “The situation happened in the middle of major knockout matches, a crowded schedule, and in the league, where we are looking to score points, and there may be a feeling in the team not being too busy with winning or losing, and losing some advantages, and this may be enough to lose matches.”
