The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (indecopi) ordered the blocking of 51 pirate websites that were in charge of illegally transmitting all the matches of the World Cup Qatar 2022.
Specifically, it was the Commission (CDA) that issued this official precautionary measure for the entire Peruvian territory.

According to indecopithese portals “were dedicated to various illegal activities such as streaming sporting events from the World Cup Qatar 2022as well as audiovisual works, musical works and phonograms”.
The blocking orders are directed at companies such as Claro, Movistar, Bitel, Entel, Americatel, Win and GTD in their capacity as internet service providers.
“Through the blocked web pages, various allegedly unauthorized acts of exploitation of works and productions protected by the legislation on copyright and related rights were carried out, or they had been contributing to the users of said sites carrying out the aforementioned acts of exploitation,” the statement said.
“It is necessary to highlight that the measures dictated by Indecopi, within the framework of the fight once morest digital piracy, seek to discourage this type of practice that violates copyright and related rights, investments, as well as the sources of work that are generated around the creative industries”, clarifies the entity.
