The United States, England, Senegal and the Netherlands have qualified for the round of 16 in the World Cup hosted by Qatar.
In a match characterized by a fast pace, the US team was able to defeat its Iranian counterpart with a clean goal that came in the 38th minute of the match.
In the second group itself, England strengthened its lead and qualified for the round of 16 following beating Wales 3-0.
As for the first group, Senegal and the Netherlands have booked their seats in the round of sixteen earlier today.
Senegal beat Ecuador with two goals to one, to occupy second place in the group with six points, while the Netherlands topped the group with seven points following beating Qatar, the host country, with two clean goals.
The Netherlands beat Qatar with two unanswered goals from the signing of Cody Jakobo in the 26th minute and Ferencé de Jong in the 49th minute, so that the Dutch mills topped the group with seven points, while Qatar left the tournament in the first round without any point following losing the three matches.
In the second match, Senegal entered the match with the sole hope of winning to ensure qualification for the next round, while Ecuador needed a draw only to reserve the qualification card.
Senegal took control and missed many opportunities, before scoring the first goal from a penalty kick in the 44th minute through Watford star Ismaila Sarr.
Ecuador equalized in the 76th minute through Moises Caicedo, but soon the Senegalese national team advanced once more with a goal through its distinguished defender Kalidou Coulibaly in the 70th minute.
