World Cup 2022: OIC SG congratulates Moroccan national team for its “historic achievement”

Jeddah – The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, congratulated, on Saturday, the Moroccan national football team for the historic achievement in reaching the semi-finals, following beating their counterpart Portuguese, in the quarter-finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

In a statement, the Secretary General praised the heroic performance of the players of the Moroccan national team during this match, wishing them more victories in the next rounds of the tournament.

Morocco qualified for the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup (Qatar-2022), a first at Arab and African level, by beating Portugal by 1 goal to 0, Saturday at al-Thumama stadium.

The winning goal for the Atlas Lions was scored by Youssef En-Nesyri in the 42nd minute.

The Moroccan selection will face for a place in the final the French team which beat England by 2-1 on Saturday evening.
