World Championship silver medalist Satoko Miyahara retires – Figure Skating

Japanese figure skater Satoko Miyahara announced her retirement.

Miyahara won silver at the 2015 World Championships and bronze at the 2018 World Championships.

“After the last Japanese Championships, I thought a lot regarding my career. All my strength, both physical and mental (especially this year), I gave to figure skating. Last year I finished the national competitions with great satisfaction. But still, I decided to leave competitive figure skating.

I do not regret anything. And I have a lot of ideas regarding what to do next. I would like to thank my family, coaches, friends, the Federation, sponsors, fans and everyone who supported me. I cannot fully express my gratitude. Thanks a lot.

But stay tuned! I will do everything in my power to prove myself in a new field,” wrote Miyahara.
