World Championship of Legends: Pakistan set a target of 157 runs to beat India in the final – Sports

In the final of the World Championship of Legends 2024, the Pakistan champions have given the Indian team a target of 157 runs to win. All-rounder Shoaib Malik was the top scorer with 41 runs.

The match between the two teams is being played at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.

In the final, Pakistan Champions captain Younis Khan won the toss and decided to bat first. And while playing first scored 156 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

All-rounder Shoaib Malik was the most prominent batsman for Pakistan, he scored 41 while Kamran Akmal scored 24, Soheib Maqsood 21, Sohail Tanveer 19, Misbah-ul-Haq 18 and Sharjeel Khan 12.

Captain Younis Khan and Aamir Yameen might only score 7 runs each while Boom Boom Shahid Afridi remained not out with 4 runs.

It should be noted that a day ago, Pakistan reached the final by defeating West Indies by 20 runs in the semifinals of the World Championship of Legends.

In the semi-final played in Northampton, Pakistan batted first and scored 198 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs, captain Younis Khan scored 65 runs and Kamran Akmal scored 46 runs.

Aamir Yameen’s 40 and Sohail Tanveer’s 33 also contributed to the team’s big score.

Chasing the target, the West Indian team was bowled out for 178 runs.

West Indies top-scorer was Ashley Nurse with 36 runs, while Rayad Emirat was the second leading batsman with 29 runs.

On behalf of Pakistan, Sohail Khan scored 4, Wahab Riaz and Shoaib Malik got 2 and 2 players out and gave the team a win.

In the second semi-final of the World Championship of Legends, Australia defeated the Legends by 86 runs and qualified for the final.

In the match played at Northampton, India Legends made a mountain-like score of 254 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, Robin Uthappa was outstanding by scoring 65 runs, Peter Siddle dismissed 4 players.

In response, Australia legends might only score 168 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted overs, Tim Paine was prominent by scoring 40 runs.

India’s Dhavol Kulkarni and Pawan Negi took two wickets each.
