A week following her sensational World Cup gold in Altenberg, Lisa Schulte achieved her best World Cup result of the season with third place on the same track on Sunday. The 23-year-old Tyrolean only had to admit defeat to the German winner Julia Taubitz (+0.297 seconds) and the Latvian Elina Vitola (+0.148). Madeleine Egle, who is second in the overall World Cup with 457 points behind Taubitz (555), came eighth (+0.447), Hannah Prock 15th (+0.990).
After the first round, Schulte was only in 13th place, and Taubitz was only 22nd. Like some other riders, she was able to successfully catch up on the rapidly declining track thanks to the fallen ranking.
