Marco Odermatt wins gold in the men’s downhill. Afterwards he causes a big laugh on TV.
The Swiss Marco Odermatt became downhill world champion in Courchevel on Sunday. He then duly celebrated his triumph.
Among other things, there was also a visit to the SRF-Studio on the program, during which he was no longer completely sober.
In the studio he was first served his dinner and then pointed to the white wine bottle. Odermatt said: “And I think we’ll have to open this bottle soon. So I can keep talking.”
The 25-year-old gave an insight into his celebrations. He admitted to being “rather drunk” on the show and that this isn’t his first drink. He added with a laugh: “I don’t have to drive anymore today, everything is organized.”
The Swiss skier put in a strong run on Sunday and took gold with a time of 1m 47.05s ahead of long-time rivals Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and Cameron Alexander.
