Commonwealth Games gold medalist Nitu reached the pre-quarters by defeating Korea’s Doyon Kang in the 48 kg category. Last year, Nitu reached the quarter. In the 54 kg category, Romania’s Lacramiora overcame Perioc after a tough fight. Manju’s progress in 66 kg was achieved by beating New Zealand’s Kara Warerau 5-0.
