World Bicycle Day – Let’s cycle safely

Cycling, the most sustainable means of transportation, is becoming increasingly popular as an economical and environmentally friendly option that contributes to better health. The symbiosis of cars and bikes on the roads means that drivers of both need to be extra careful to keep us all safe.

PPC systematically highlights the value and promotes the use of the bicycle, in all its forms, for a better, sustainable and greener future. On the occasion of her World Bicycle Dayon June 3, created one informative campaign with useful tips and rules of driving behavior for cyclists and car drivers.

The campaign stands out correct way to open the door of the car that allows us to look behind if a bicycle is coming. Also known as Dutch Gripas it is the primary way drivers open car doors in the country with the most bicycles per capita in the world, the method is about using the hand furthest from the door for its opening instead of the one that is closer, forcing the body to turn. The method should be applied by all occupants of the vehicle, driver and passengers. See the relevant video here.
