One hundred fifty million dollars will be made available by the World Bank, for the first phase of the Higher Education, Science and Technology (TEST) project, ANGOP learned yesterday, Thursday.
The project aims to improve and expand teacher training in Angola, as well as the quality of programs in strategic priority areas. The first phase of investments will benefit more than 150 thousand young Angolans.
According to the head of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ndilu Mankenda Nkula, the program aligns with the launch of the White Paper on Higher Education and marks a substantial multi-year investment in education in Angola, particularly in science, technology and innovation.
The program aims to increase the number of highly qualified graduates, with skills aligned with the job market in strategic priority areas.
By the way, the World Bank’s senior economist for Angola, Natasha Andrade, suggested that in the next 10 years, the expansion and improvement in teacher training will eventually reach 3.2 million Angolan students.
