Workshops: Depietri, the injury that complicated it and the classic with the Institute

He was only able to play four games at Talleres, until an injury suffered following the game once morest Platense stopped him unexpectedly and cut him off from the momentum he had had since the start of the Professional League Tournament. But in just 129 minutes he was able to demonstrate his virtues.

This is Valentín Depietri, one of the reinforcements that reached the “T” for this season, a creative and talented attacking midfielder, on whom the club’s president, Andrés Fassi, set his sights from some behind pass markets and whom he had not been able to convince him to join the club. He was, as he recently admitted, the player he had to call the most to agree to come to albiazul.

Valentín comes from a 20-day hiatus, but he is ready physically and soccer wise to be taken into account by coach Javier Gandolfi for next Sunday’s classic once morest Instituto, in Alta Córdoba. He shows his anxiety and hopes that “Cobija” will summon him and he can play, even for a few minutes, in a game of such importance.

“After the game once morest Platense, in the first training session, we made a reduction and in an unfortunate play I wanted to hold a ball and I felt a strong discomfort in the rear. It wasn’t a tear, but the injury kept me out for regarding 20 days. Fortunately I am now recovered. This week I trained normally and on Friday I did 50 minutes of full-time football once morest the reserves and I’m now available to play,” the skilled Tandil player told Mundo D.

-You arrive just for the classic in front of the Institute. The desire you will have to play that game…

-Not to mention because in those days of stopping they took me little by little and it was difficult for me to calm the anxiety that I had to play soccer in training. The classic hasn’t been played for a long time, so if I have to play, even for a few minutes, I’ll give everything so that the team wins once more following three games in which we might only score one point, for various reasons that everyone already know. But I do not stop being aware that I am coming from an injury and that I have to go little by little.

-With what mentality will they face the game?

-Javier already told us that the next week of training will be quite intense because that’s how the classic will be. We want to win it to get back into the top positions and get back on the winning streak we were on.

-What do you think of the problems that Talleres had with some referees, like Fernando Rapallini and Darío Herrera, in recent games?

-I’m not much to talk regarding the referees, but I think what happened was clear. They were split plays where they might have cashed for us, but that’s it. We have to concentrate on our game, on all the good things we’ve been doing and that because of these things made it difficult for us in the last three games.

-Andrés Fassi said that you were one of the reinforcements who had to make the most calls to get him to agree to come to Talleres.

-Yes, it was like that because I had already spoken with him when I was in Santamarina. But at that moment I was given the opportunity to go play in Fortaleza and I went there. It was not the time, but luckily he continued to trust me. Later, he called me once more and I decided to come to Talleres because I really liked the idea of returning to the country and joining Talleres. Today I am here and I am very happy. I found myself with a much more physical football than the one I came from, but little by little I was adapting.

-Did it cost you to leave Tandil?

-Yes, because I considered before going to Fortaleza that I had played little and needed to get better in my head and in football, before accepting an offer to leave. Later, I played more and it was time to take the leap and play in Brazil. And I think it was the best option.

-Is Talleres one of the teams that plays the best in Argentine soccer?

-We know what we are and what we can still give. We have a great squad, with a lot of hierarchy and national team players. In training you can see the quality of footballers we have, on the right foot and with a lot of football. And we are missing Nahuel Bustos. I hope he recovers quickly from the injury because he’s going to give the team a leap in quality.
