Work carried out by the Flemish agency in charge of traffic (Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer) will take place from Monday August 22 to Friday August 26 on the inner Brussels ring road between the Groenendael crossroads and the border with the Walloon region, a-t she announced in a press release Thursday. A new layer of asphalt will be laid on the inner ring lanes.
The contractor plans to start activities Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. The final stages of the operation are scheduled from Thursday evening until late at night so that the work is completed on Friday morning.
The new surfacing will be installed over a total distance of four kilometers on the right lane. The left lane will be redeveloped from the ecoduct to the linguistic border.
Only one lane will be open to traffic in the direction of Waterloo instead of two and speed will be limited during the works. The Flemish agency wanted to carry out this repair as long as the Groenendael ramp was still under construction so that drivers heading towards Waterloo and Namur would not be disturbed twice. No further disruption is therefore expected.
