Works on the Bioceánica Bridge are experiencing optimal progress, according to the MOPC

Asunción, IP Agency.- The construction of the Bioceánica Bridge, a key project for regional integration, presents physical and financial progress that is close to 60%, according to the latest report corresponding to the month of September 2024.

Currently, various tasks are being carried out that mark the progress of this infrastructure work, according to the report from the Ministry of Public Works.

On the access viaducts, the deck slab has been completed in all spans, both on the Paraguayan and Brazilian sides. On the other hand, in the cable-stayed section on the Paraguayan side, progress is being made with the execution of the starting voussoir on pylon 13, carrying out work on the placement of formwork, reinforcement, sheaths and post-tensioning strands, with concreting planned for the next few years. days.

Likewise, the last stage of raising pylon 13 is underway until reaching the final level.

On the Brazilian side, pylon 14 is in the process of construction, where the second brace beam has been executed, which will allow the final lifting phase to begin to its final level. After the arrival of the advance cars, the segments will be installed using successive cantilevers in the central and lateral sections of both pylons.

This bridge is part of the Bioceanic Corridor, a strategic work that will facilitate the connection between Paraguay and Brazil, promoting trade and development in the region. It is financed by Itaipú Binacional and is under the supervision of the MOPC.
