Works at the Tomás Romero Pereira Hospital have 70% progress in execution

Asunción, IP Agency.- The works at the Tomás Romero Pereira District Hospital, in the department of Itapúa, are 70% complete in the second stage of construction work.

The Minister of Public Health, María Teresa Barán Wasilchuk, accompanied the verification of the works, at the invitation of the Public Works, Communications and Public Services Commission of the Chamber of Senators.

The deadline would be 300 days to complete the works, and the members of the Senate Works Commission committed to expediting the procedures necessary for its approval.

The head of the Ministry of Health expressed her satisfaction with the progress of the work and highlighted the importance of guaranteeing quality care to mothers and children in the region.

“It is essential to invest in hospital infrastructure to provide excellent health services to the community,” he expressed in that sense.

Increase hospital capacity

During the visit, the delegation reviewed the progress of the construction of a new pavilion for the maternal and child area and for the treatment of traumas and complex surgeries with the aim of turning the center into a hospital reference, along Route 6 .

The new three-story pavilion will include intensive care and inpatient rooms, as well as surgery rooms and offices. This will significantly improve the hospital’s care capacity and benefit the entire community of Tomás Romero Pereira and its surroundings.

The strategic location of the town, between Encarnación and Ciudad del Este, makes it a key point for the development of hospital infrastructure of great importance.

The second stage is 70% complete, and they will coordinate necessary actions to expedite its completion in order to respond to the health care needs in this district of Itapúa.

Strengthening oral health

A new dental chair installed in the hospital will allow us to offer better service to patients who come to the hospital to care for their oral health. During their visit, the delegation toured the area.

In addition to other national authorities, representatives of the IPS, the Yacyretá Binational Entity and the Municipality of Tomás Romero Pereira participated in the tour.
