The roadway of the state road L 92 from the railway crossing in Randegg to the Unteramt area in the municipality of Gresten-Land no longer meets today’s modern traffic requirements due to its age and the damage to the roadway that has occurred (compression, cracks, etc.). For these reasons, the Lower Austrian Road Service has decided to renew the L 92 roadway in this area in two sections, with the first section from the railway crossing in Randegg at kilometer 21.46 to the Gasthaus Karlwirt at kilometer 23.3 recently officially completed became. In the course of this, the ancillary facilities located in the Randegg area were also renovated and adapted to the new circumstances. The second section from the Karlwirt inn to Unteramt in Gresten-Land at kilometer 24.2 will take place in 2025.
“The road is indispensable and, as a basic mode of transport, secures the livelihood and livelihood of our compatriots,” informs LH deputy Udo Landbauer, who also emphasizes: “Only a well-developed and, above all, well-maintained network of roads and bridges guarantees the high quality of locations in Lower Austria, improves the quality of life of our families and secures economic value creation. You can rely on the Lower Austrian road service.”
During the project, the L 92 was renewed over a length of around 1.7 kilometers, deep renovations were carried out, the road was milled and restored with the application of a five centimeter thick surface layer. In the Randegg area, the sidewalk was re-asphalted in part and contact areas were created for two bus bays. The construction work on the first section was carried out by the Porr company and the Gaming road maintenance company in collaboration with construction companies in the region. The construction work began in July and has now been completed. The total costs for both sections are around 626,000 euros, of which around 590,000 euros are borne by the state of Lower Austria and 36,000 euros by the market town of Randegg.
