A third of the houses in the Vals du Dauphiné use wood as their main source of heating: this is one of the findings revealed by the diagnosis of the renewable energy master plan. The elected officials of the Vals du Dauphiné, meeting in a community council this Thursday, December 14 in La Tour-du-Pin, took note of it.
“Used in conditions that are not optimal, wood heating is a source of fine particle emissions. According to Public Health France, the number of premature deaths caused by poor air quality is estimated at 40,000. This is a real public health issue,” said Gilles Bourdier, vice-president of Vals du Dauphiné in charge of sustainable development and mobility.
