Hae Jo (Woo Do-hwan) is an adult man who lives an unhappy life. In fact, he didn’t have a single person who loved and cared for him. Hae Jo also doesn’t know who his biological father is, so he grew up without a father figure.
This also makes people think that Hae Jo was born from a mistake. Time continues to pass, until Hae Jo hears news information that can change his life and he can live happily. Finally, Hae Jo decided to go looking for her biological father.
Hae Jo meets a woman named Jo Jae-mi (Lee Yoo-mi) on her journey to find her biological father. However, at that time Jae-mi was about to marry a man named Eo Hung (Oh Jung-se), who was born into a family of culinary businessmen who owned a company called Eo Family.
However, Eo Hung’s family, one of which is his mother, Beom Ho-ja (Kim Hae-sook), does not want Jo Jae-mi to become Eo Heung’s wife. But in the end, they still got married because Jae-mi was pregnant.
Unfortunately, Jo Jae-mi and Eo Heung’s wedding ceremony did not go smoothly because Jo Jae-mi suddenly ran away from the location. Jo Jae-mi disappeared because she accompanied Hae Jo on a journey to find her father and true identity. (M-3)

**Lee Yoo-mi**: Thank you for having me! I’m excited to talk about this project.
**Editor**: “Mr. Plankton” portrays characters who struggle to connect with others. Can you tell us how your character fits into this theme?
**Lee Yoo-mi**: Absolutely. My character, like Hae Jo, grapples with loneliness. She feels disconnected from the world around her, much like a plankton in the ocean. This struggle adds depth to her personality and drives her journey throughout the drama. The relationship dynamics really bring out their vulnerabilities.
**Editor**: The show is directed by Hong Jong-Chan, known for acclaimed works like “Juvenile Justice.” How was your experience working with him?
**Lee Yoo-mi**: It was amazing! Hong Jong-Chan has a unique vision and a way of bringing out profound emotions. He pushes you to explore different aspects of your character, which really enhances the storytelling.
**Editor**: The writing from Jo Yong has also received praise. How did his script contribute to the overall theme of the series?
**Lee Yoo-mi**: Jo Yong’s writing is incredibly insightful. He captures the essence of isolation and the desperation to connect in a poignant way. His ability to blend humor with deep emotional moments allowed us to portray our characters authentically.
**Editor**: What do you hope viewers take away from “Mr. Plankton”?
**Lee Yoo-mi**: I hope viewers can relate to the characters’ struggles and feel a sense of hope. The journey of finding connection and understanding oneself is universal, and I believe many will see parts of themselves in Hae Jo and my character.
