“Wonka,” the musical fantasy regarding the famous chocolatier who gave his name to the film, maintained the top spot at the North American box office over the weekend with $14.4 million.
The film, produced by Warner Brothers, achieved total revenues of $165 million domestically and more than $300 million globally in its fourth weekend.
The film “Wonka” stars Timothée Chalamet, alongside Rowan Atkinson and Hugh Grant.
The new horror film “Night Swim” came in second place, achieving revenues amounting to $12 million, according to the specialized company “Expeter Relations.”
Third place went to “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” produced by Warner Brothers, which grossed $10.6 million. Jason Momoa once once more plays the superhero as he fights climate change.
It was followed in fourth place by the animated comedy film “Migration,” which deals with the journey of the Culvert duck family as they move from New England to Jamaica. The film grossed $10.3 million.
