Alpine skiing: women’s slalom in Soldeu NOW in the live ticker – 1st run

Jessica Hilzinger (GER)

Jessica Hilzinger is the last runner of the first round. The third German starter crossed the finish line with a few difficulties and ended up at the end of the rankings with a loss of a good three seconds. At least she can open the final round as 22nd. A leap into the top 15 is certainly still possible.

Amelia Smart (CAN)

Amelia Smart isn’t doing quite so well. But despite mighty difficulties, the Canadian fought and managed to finish 20th with a deficit of two and a half seconds.

Elena Stoffel (SUI)

In this respect, Elena Stoffel is on the right track. But the Swiss not only crossed the finish line well, they still struggled a lot with this track, losing only two seconds and taking 14th place.

Camille Rast (SUI)

Camille Rast then shared the fate of Tviberg. The Swiss does not make it to the finish. And coming through today might almost be enough for World Cup points – given the many failures

Maria Therese Tviberg (NOR)

Afterwards we experience another Norwegian in Maria Therese Tviberg, who, however, is eliminated at the entrance to the steep slope.

Mina Furst Holtmann (NOR)

Mina Fürst Holtmann is now similarly strong. The Norwegian shows what is still possible under these conditions – and pulls it through to the bottom. That gives an excellent ninth place.

Emma Aicher (GER)

Then Emma Aicher makes you sit up and take notice. The young German drives really well and is on course for the top 10. But the question of what she can do below remains unanswered, because the 19-year-old is eliminated.

Martina Dubovska (CZE)

Martina Dubovska drives into this area. The Czech takes 16th place. The first round is now pretty much beaten – before the snow melts completely.

Ali Nullmeyer (CAN)

Then Ali Nullmeyer is on his way. The Canadian catches up almost two and a half seconds behind. Only Katharina Truppe was even slower today.

Katharina Liensberger (AUT)

Then Katharina Liensberger struggles with the slope. The 2021 World Champion is looking for form this season. The Vorarlberger finishes fifteenth.

Michelle Gisin (SUI)

With a gap of around two seconds, the athletes can now be very satisfied. Let’s see what Michelle Gisin is capable of. The sensitive skier might handle the conditions better. In fact, the Engelberger does it really well. It puts less than two seconds down and a very decent tenth place.

Hanna Aronsson Elfman (SWE)

As a result, Hanna Aronsson Elfman also does quite well. The junior world champion does it very cleverly, using the given tracks. Only in the last part of the route does it not run quite so smoothly. Laurence St-Germain has just shown what is still possible on this slope. The Swede is less than half a second away from that. That’s fine.

Laurence St-Germain (CAN)

Laurence St-Germain drives better followingwards. The World Champion is right up to the last split and less than a second behind. After that it’s a wild ride, where the Canadian has to fight. Nevertheless, the deficit remains well under two seconds, which means ninth place.

Katharina Truppe (AUT)

What else can Katharina Truppe get out of it? The Carinthian strives for clean technology. It doesn’t work that way on steep slopes. There, the ÖSV driver gets a real kick out of it. Three seconds lost mean the Red Lantern.

Franziska Gritsch (AUT)

Now the first Austrian is ready. Franziska Gritsch drives quite well at first. The versatile Tyrolean then makes mistakes and collects a huge deficit. At the end it puts two seconds. That throws her back to tenth place.

Zrinka Ljutic (CRO)

Then Zrinka Ljutic made a mistake shortly following the start. Although the Croatian climbs up once more, she catches herself there for twelve seconds. There is also a lack of concentration in the episode, and another mistake occurs. And now the 19-year-old is eliminated.

Sara Hector (SWE)

Now Sara Hector is on her way. Of course, your powerful driving style doesn’t fit today. You need a lot of feeling on this slope. The hard gait doesn’t work, the Swede doesn’t catch the line more often. She atones for this with a deficit of almost two seconds.

Ana Bucik (SLO)

Then Ana Bucik pushes off at the top. The Slovenian likes these conditions and is coping better than the last runners. Under these circumstances, it’s a decent ride – despite being more than a second behind. Bucik sorts himself in sixth.

Thea Louise Stjernesund (NOR)

Although Thea Louise Stjernesund quickly finds her rhythm at the top, it doesn’t come together followingwards. The slopes no longer allow for personal bests anyway. It is important to keep the backlog somewhat within limits. The Norwegian does not succeed, she leaves more than two seconds.

Lena Durr (GER)

What else can Lena Dürr get out of this slope? The third place in the World Cup is off to a good start. After that, however, the German does not find the attitude to the slope. Sometimes she is far from the line. Dürr loses a lot of time, it’s one and a half seconds at the end. The 31-year-old imagined it very differently.

Paula Moltzan (USA)

We are a long way from North American snow conditions here. What does Paula Moltzan make of it? The 28-year-old loses a lot of time early on. And that continues continuously, the last aggressiveness is missing. With a deficit of more than a second, the American slipped down the rankings to the end.

Anna Swenn-Larsson (SWE)

Then Anna Swenn-Larsson pushes herself up the slope. The Swede quickly finds her rhythm. In soft snow, the 31-year-old can’t set the skis properly. Occasionally it slips a little. The Scandinavian lost a good half a second and finished third.

Leona Popovic (CRO)

Setting the course is a challenge. And the track seems to be getting better. Leona Popovic withstands these adversities. The Croatian drives really well. She doesn’t make it all the way down. But only three tenths are lost, that’s a good run. Popovic joins in second.

Wendy Holdener (SUI)

Then Wendy Holdener sets off. The Swiss gets off to a good start. But as the game progressed, the 29-year-old didn’t seem quick enough between the goals and didn’t catch the line perfectly. Holdener loses a lot of time. Far more than a second is missing at the end.

Mikaela Shiffrin (USA)

Now Mikaela Shiffrin is already putting her competitor’s specifications to the test. The four-time world champion has already won six slaloms this season. The American also finds her way in quickly and is just ahead in the intermediate times.

Petra Vlhova (SVK)

Petra Vlhova is now opening the last slalom of the Alpine World Cup winter. 70 goals have been scored. The winner from Flachau is allowed to be the first to cross the piste. The Slovak goes to work in a concentrated manner and drives quite cleanly. The Olympic champion does not allow herself any major mistakes. Vlhova sets the first time.

Alpine skiing: women’s slalom in Soldeu in the live ticker – before the start

Before start: It’s not regarding crystal balls anymore. Mikaela Shiffrin (start number 2) has long since had both the small one in slalom and the big one for the overall World Cup. With regard to this exceptional athlete, we are at a loss for words anyway. The American snagged the sole record of 87 World Cup victories last weekend. And that doesn’t have to be the end of it. The Vice World Champion is still the favorite today. Of course, the Olympic champion Petra Vlhova (1) would also like to have a say in the victory. Besides Holdener and Dürr, we can hardly think of any other names. It remains to be seen how the athletes will cope with the spring snow in Andorra and how long the slope will last. Under certain circumstances, Anna Swenn Larsson (5) will also speak up. Another feat of world champion Laurence St-Germain (14) would be a surprise.

Before start: Wendy Holdener (car number 3) has more in mind. Of course, the two-time winner of the season is aiming for the podium. It remains to be seen how the frequent driver Michelle Gisin (16) will be on the day. Camille Rast (23) and Elena Stoffel (24) would like to make it into the top 15 somehow.

Before start: The best slalom skier of the ÖSV this winter was Katharina Truppe (start number 13). At least she made it onto the podium in Killington. Repeating that today will be difficult enough and also seems very unlikely for the versatile Franziska Gritsch (12) and the former world champion Katharina Liensberger. It’s more of a top 10 result.

Before start: Three women compete in the colors of the DSV. Of course, we are sending Lena Dürr (car number 7) into the race with the highest hopes. Third in the World Championships, she won her first World Cup this winter – apart from a city event in Moscow in 2013. The 31-year-old is one of the contenders for the podium. For Emma Aicher (20) and Jessica Hilzinger (26) it’s regarding somehow making it into the top 15 – only for them there are World Cup points today.

Before start: At the World Cup final, the top 25 athletes in each discipline are eligible to start. In addition, those who have collected more than 500 points in the overall World Cup may also compete. The junior world champions have the right to start. Today the starting field is made up entirely of the top 25 of the slalom world cup. And since we have two athletes with the same number of points in 25th place, we have 26 runners. Among them is already the junior world champion Hanna Aronsson Elfman.

Before start: After yesterday’s team competition, it’s now the turn of the technical disciplines. This will conclude the Alpine World Cup winter this weekend. Today the women compete in their slalom on the slope called Avet. The start is at 2,047 meters. From here, the course set by the Swiss trainer Denis Wicki shows the way down the 210 meters to the finish. 26 athletes from eleven nations will face this task.

Before start: Hello and welcome to the women’s slalom at the World Cup finals in Soldeu! The live ticker starts in good time before the start of the race.
