Women’s IPL in cash flow, companies spend Rs 4,670 crore on five teams

Delhi: Ahead of the first women’s IPL, companies have invested crores and acquired franchises. Companies have spent a total of Rs 4,670 crore for the teams.

BCCI This news was released by Secretary Jai Shah. He also informed that the tournament will be held under the name of Women’s Premier League. Jai Shah announced that the women’s IPL has received more money than the first IPL in 2008.

The auction was held for five franchises namely Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Lucknow.

The Ahmedabad franchise is owned by Adani Sports Pvt. Adani team acquired the Ahmedabad franchise for Rs 1,289 crore. India Win Sports Ltd bought the Mumbai franchise for Rs 912.99 crore. Mumbai Indians team is owned by Mukesh Ambani’s India Win Sports Limited.

Bengaluru franchise acquired by Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd for Rs 901 crore. Royal Challengers Bangalore team in IPL falls under this group. JSW GMR Cricket Pvt Ltd, the owners of the Delhi franchise Delhi Capitals bought the Delhi franchise for Rs 810 crore while the Lucknow franchise was acquired by Capri Global Holdings Pvt Ltd for Rs 757 crore.

A total of five teams are competing in the inaugural Women’s IPL. Viaco 18 has already acquired the broadcast rights of the Women’s Premier League for Rs 951 crore. The contract runs from 2023 to 2027.
