22,000 women will benefit from waff services in 2023
Vienna (OTS) – It doesn’t matter whether it’s regarding catching up on a training qualification, professional training or the leap into management positions – waff supports Viennese employees in getting ahead in their careers. For more equality on the labor market, waff encourages women with advice and money for further training in order to advance in their careers. In 2023 alone, around 22,000 women will benefit from waff’s services, such as the promotion of training and further education with 90 percent of the costs or a maximum of 5,000 euros or the scholarship for part-time FH studies in digitization, sustainability and technology of 10,000 euros with a Bachelor’s degree or 7,500 euros for a Master’s degree. The waff supports the compatibility of children and work with targeted advice, during and following parental leave and 100 percent funding of up to 4,000 euros for further training costs. The offer for women is supplemented by workshops that focus on specialist input and networking.
City Councilor for Economic Affairs Peter Hanke is convinced that the promotion of equality between women and men is an economic necessity for companies: “Companies that employ women and men on an equal footing are able to benefit from the diversity and the different experiences and perspectives that every employee brings with them. Studies have shown that companies with more women in leadership positions tend to achieve better business results. The City of Vienna empowers the Viennese women through the waff so that they can advance in terms of employment opportunities, remuneration and career opportunities.”
waff CEO Christian Meidlinger currently sees good opportunities for women to advance in their careers: “In some sectors there is already a high demand for skilled workers, which will continue or increase due to the coming retirement of the baby boomers. This is an opportunity for women on the labor market, especially in jobs that have to do with digitization and climate protection. The waff supports women with information, advice and support for training and further education.”
