Women’s Contribution to Medicine: Donated Portraits at UBA Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) will receive on Wednesday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m. the donation of three paintings with portraits of relevant women in the history of medicine, among them, Cecilia Grierson, Alicia Moreau de Justo and Julieta Lanteri, to highlight “the importance of women in the field of health,” reported the house of higher education.

The ceremony will take place at the Central Museum of Medical Sciences of the Faculty of Medicine, a place recently inaugurated by the dean, Ignacio Bruscolocated at Paraguay 2155 in the City of Buenos Aires.

“This event marks a significant milestoneboth for the Faculty and for the SI Women program -from the Elea laboratory, which will make the donation-, highlighting the importance of women in the field of health,” they stressed from the university.

The women honored

Cecilia Grierson.

Regarding the prominent women, they mentioned that Cecilia Grierson was the first doctor of Argentine nationality and organizer of National Council of Women and the National Obstetric Association.
