Women to control the game at the Qatar World Cup. A total of six women referees will officiate in Qatar. Of these, three are referees and three are assistant referees. The main referees are Stephanie Frapart of France, Salima Mukansanga of Rwanda and Yoshimi Yamashita of Japan. The assistant referees will be Brazil’s Newsback, Mexico’s Diaz Medina and USA’s Catherine Nicebit. Qatar has a total of 36 key referees, 69 assistant referees and 24 video match officials at the World Cup.
