The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) emphasizes the important role of women in eradicating corruption. They are considered to play a major role in suppressing racist practices.

“A woman must be a role model. As part of society, women can take action in their own environment or through cyberspace,” said KPK Deputy for Education and Community Participation Wawan Wardiana in a written statement, Thursday (7/3).

Wawan said that women who have become wives can also set an example. The way to do this is by not encouraging your husband to commit corruption.

“As mothers, women must educate our children with at least nine anti-corruption values,” he explained.

Wawan conveyed this message when receiving the 42 finalists for Puteri Indonesia 2024, on Wednesday (6/3). All finalists were given an understanding of eradicating corruption.

“Puteri Indonesia has a special role as an educator, motivator, initiator, facilitator and advocate. Especially with the development of social media, the finalists can become anti-corruption influencers,” he said.

Wawan admitted that the Corruption Eradication Committee would be very happy if anti-corruption discussions spread widely in society. The public is expected to be information literate so that corrupt practices can be suppressed.

“When everyone understands, an anti-corruption culture will emerge,” he explained. (Z-11)
