Women deprived of liberty from Ciudad del Este received coats donated by the Ministry of Justice

Asuncion, IP Agency.- A total of 75 women deprived of liberty (MPL) and their minor children who live within the walls of the “Juana María de Lara” Women’s Rehabilitation and Labor Reinsertion Center, located in Ciudad del Este, received winter coats and supplies. There was a great citizen response to the collection promoted by the Ministry of Justice.

The winter clothing collection activity concluded last week and the donations were sorted, explained the Reintegration Liaison, Nelsi Centurión.

The general coordinator of Women’s Penitentiary Establishments, Shirley Talavera, highlighted the support of the citizens of Esteña for providing their help, as well as the Ministry of Public Defense (MDP), which also donated more coats, which will be sent to other women’s prisons.

The Ministry of Justice highlighted the collaboration of compatriots from various parts of the country with demonstrations of solidarity for the vulnerable sector of the penitentiary system.

The women of the Juana de Lara Rehabilitation Center make planters and chairs from used tires, among other items, as part of a rehabilitation project.
