Women attacked in the subway: the Berlin police are investigating suspects

Just a few hours following the publication of photos from several BVG surveillance cameras, the Berlin police identified a wanted suspect on Monday. A police officer gave the crucial clue, the authorities said on Monday followingnoon.

The man is accused of hitting and kicking two women on the subway. The crime happened on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at around 2:10 a.m. on the U6 underground train in the direction of Alt-Tegel, just before the Rehberge underground station.

Attack in the subway: when the women called for help, the man struck

The man and his companion sat down in the wagon across from the two 22-year-old women. There the now determined man with the black tracksuit insulted the women in German and French.

A police spokeswoman: “The young women shouted loudly for help on the train. Suddenly, the suspect hit one of the two women in the face with his hand. The suspect then kicked the other woman in the chest with his shoed foot.”

The spokeswoman continued: “The man who accompanied the attacker did not participate in the insult and assault, but is a witness here.” According to the information, the companion might not yet be identified. The Berlin police are still investigating the case.
