A 22-year-old woman froze to death following spending 18 hours trapped in her vehicle, US authorities said.
Anndel Taylor was one of three motorists found in her car, which defiantly took to the road despite the travel ban.
The incident occurred in the US city of Buffalo following spending 18 hours trapped in her car during winter storm Elliot.
In the words of her family, the young woman called the emergency services but they never came to rescue her.
In total, this meteorological phenomenon has caused the death of 57 people.

The young woman sent some videos to her family before she died, the last one was recorded following midnight, when she rolled down the ice-covered window to see a nearby van also stranded and with its emergency lights on.
“I was telling my sister that I was scared,” Tomeshia Brown, one of Taylor’s sisters, told Wsoc-TV.
Her family told the outlet that she was allegedly trapped in her car for regarding 18 hours before she was found on Christmas Eve.
“He called 911 and waited for them to arrive. The fire service, the police, everyone was backed up,” said her mother, Wanda Brown Steele, wondering why there were no emergency vehicles capable of operating during the storm in a “state that is known for snow” .
Authorities warn they may still find more victims as they forecast more snow. This meteorological disaster described as “the storm of the century” by the governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, continues with her fury.
