The woman who jumped from the roof of student association Vindicat on Thursday morning died of her injuries. That is why there was mourning in front of the building on the Grote Markt on Friday followingnoon.
The woman was admitted to hospital in critical condition following the jump. There, the woman (a board member of Vindicat) died ‘from complications resulting from the terrible incident’, Vindicat said in a statement.
“We are completely devastated”
The Senate and the Board of the Society Committee of Vindicat state that they are in deep mourning following the incident: “She was a beloved member of our association. We are completely devastated and have no words for this great, heartbreaking loss.”
The student association says it sympathizes with the family, friends, relatives and other loved ones of the woman: “We still cannot understand the situation. We therefore ask for understanding for all her loved ones in processing this terrible loss.”

Groups of students and other mourners gathered on the Grote Markt on Friday followingnoon. Flowers were laid in front of Vindicat and several people took the time to reflect together on the woman’s passing. The flags on the facade of the Vindicat building were flying at half-mast.
