Woman tried to trade her baby for gold

A commission from the security forces of Puerto Ayacucho, in Amazonas state, arrested two women for allegedly negotiating a five-month-old baby.

An 18-year-old girl tried to sell the child for seven grams of gold to a 43-year-old woman, according to Diario 2001.

The event occurred in the Carnevalli neighborhood, where the baby’s mother agreed to meet with the alleged buyer.

Both were detained under the intervention of the Unit for the Protection of Boys, Girls and Adolescents of the entity’s Police, explained the Government.

The complaint was filed by the child’s father, who accused the action of his ex-partner and the other defendant for his participation in the crime.

Officials went to the sector and managed to locate the child.

The case was left in charge of the 5th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry for due process.
