Defendant arrested for tying up a woman in a hotel room and raping her in Thrissur. The Kannur native was summoned to Thrissur on the misconception that she might get a loan for unlicensed land. The tragic incident took place last October. The victim was a 38-year-old woman from Kannur. The woman’s one and a half acres of land had not been leased. The woman was convinced that the lease might be ratified and that the land might be mortgaged and the loan given. The swindler was Lenin, a native of Pudukkad, Thrissur. The young woman met Lenin through a friend. He was asked to come to Thrissur to talk regarding patties and loans. The woman from Kannur stayed at a hotel in Thrissur.
Lenin was also given the room. The woman was allegedly assaulted following arriving at a fake room to sign documents. According to the woman, she was raped following tying her hands with a tortoise shell. Thrissur East Inspector P Lalkumar and his team started an investigation on the complaint of the woman. Lenin was accused in six fraud cases. Similarly, the police said that there were nineteen cases once morest the accused for obtaining loans on the basis of forged deeds of land. Police estimate that more complaints are likely to be received.
