Woman suspected of killing two people identified

(CNN) –– The woman suspected of killing two people in multiple shootings in Midtown Atlanta on Monday afternoon has been identified as Raissa Kengne, according to Atlanta Police spokesman Officer Anthony W. Grant.

Kengne was located at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Authorities took her into custody without incident after she allegedly fatally shot two people and wounded one more, CNN previously reported.

It is unclear whether Kengne has hired a lawyer or when he is expected to appear before a judge.

The victims were identified as Wesley Freeman, 41, of Atlanta, and Michael Shinners, 60, who lived in suburban Alpharetta, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office. Freeman, who died at a nearby hospital, was shot six times and Shinners three, the coroner said.

Previously, police said the shootings occurred at two locations in Midtown Atlanta.

Authorities initially responded Monday to West Peachtree Street around 1:45 pm ET for a report of someone being shot.

“Upon arrival, officers located two people who appeared to have been shot. One of the victims died and the second was taken to hospital for treatment,” police said in a statement.

Authorities then received a call of a person shot on Peachtree Street. Authorities said the last shooting apparently took place at 2:15 p.m.

Police officers said it is “unclear what led to the shootings” and continue to piece together “the connection between the locations.”
