Woman shot a man in a residential building in New York

A woman shot a man last night inside a public housing building (NCYHA) in Manhattan.

Law enforcement sources said the unidentified 33-year-old victim collapsed in the lobby of the 1775 Houses building on E. 126th St. near Lexington Ave. in East Harlem around 6:10 p.m. “They found him on the stairs, bleeding,” said to Daily News a neighbor who did not want to be identified. “They shot him between the ribs and the stomach.”

After shooting the man once in the abdomen, the woman fled in a vehicle Gold 2004 GMC Envoy, police officers at the scene reported. Paramedics took the victim to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.

Police said they knew who the woman they were looking for was, but did not release her name. It is not clear the reason for the shot or his possible link to the victim.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information should call to 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) and in Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Also through the page crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or by text to 274637 (CRIMES), followed by TIP577. All communications are strictly confidential.

Earlier that month two women and a man were stabbed to death during a domestic dispute inside another public housing complex in East Harlem.

Last November a 23-year-old man was stabbed to death on the steps of his building in The Bronx (NYC).
