A 58-year-old German started at 2:15 p.m. in the 4.2 km long swimming competition, starting at the natural bathing beach in Hof near Salzburg and finishing at Fuschlseebad in Fuschl am See. According to the police, the water rescue finally found the woman floating lifeless in the water at around 3:48 p.m. Despite resuscitation by the water rescue service, the 58-year-old died.
