A woman was arrested after stealing a iPhone 14 Plus in the city of Fuzhou, in Fujian (China). Security cameras recorded the moment when, after failing to detach her cell phone from the display counter, she gnaws the security cable with her teeth. ????
In the video, you can see when the woman enters the store and starts messing with the device. Faced with the difficulty of removing the device in a more conventional way, she opts for an unlikely tactic, bending down and biting the handle until she cuts it.
Although the store’s alarm went off, employees assumed it was an error and disabled the system. The theft was only noticed after the woman left the store, when employees noticed the damaged cable and the empty counter.
Later, when reviewing the footage from the internal security cameras, the store staff identified the theft and called the police. Using facial recognition technology, police were able to identify and locate the woman, making her arrest.
When questioned, the woman claimed that she had recently lost her cell phone and that she entered the store with the intention of buying a new device, but ended up giving up due to the high price. ????
