They successfully thwarted the TrashTalk Curse! In the clash between first and third in the Western Conference, the Wolves got the better of the Thunder. Rudy Gobert was very good (17 points, 16 rebounds, 4 blocks) and Minnesota managed to manage the tense end of the match, despite the injury of Anthony Edwards in the third quarter following a heavy fall.
Here are the full statistics!
Rudy Gobert had a PURE match. He was the catalyst for the Wolves tonight. Against him, the Thunder was able to count on a Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in his statistical standards (32 points), and an overall very concentrated group who played without forcing their actions. The match was thus contested from start to finish. Note the message given to Josh Giddey by the Minneapolis public, since he was whistled on each ball passed through his hands.
The Wolves respond with very high level defensive sequences. Everyone goes all out, puts a lot of pressure and doesn’t give up any openings. Rudy Gobert dissuades strongly under the basket, OKC relies on the magic of SGA to find solutions and score points. This guy is a magician.
Holy shit the Wolves DEFENSE, they were 4 once morest 5 because Naz Reid was in trouble, there was NO problem everyone redoubled their efforts and OKC mightn’t find the man alone.
Reid came back and countered Dieng. It’s very strong, zero collective abandonment.

It was in the third quarter that the first big disappointment arrived for Minnesota: on a drive, Anthony Edwards hit Jaylin Williams in the air and fell heavily on his hip. The images are impressive, Ant Man is suffering. Head to the locker room without delay, but fortunately it will only be a big blow. Nothing very serious, but no risk is taken: no return for the end of the match.

No team wants to lose, every header is applied and the match burns with stakes. The shots are returned one following the other… and when the Wolves think they have done the hardest part by taking a 5-point lead with 30 seconds to go, it’s Chet Holmgren who sends a huge 3-pointer to leave his people hope. The score is 103-101, Karl-Anthony Towns causes the foul and converts his two shots, but the implacable Shai responds with a dunk on the other side. There are 5 seconds left, the Thunder fouls Troy Brown Jr. who misses a shot (105-102). A long shot to snatch five more minutes? The SGA boss tries it, but it fails. Big success for the Wolves who assume their status as the best team in the West, but who fail to qualify for the rest of the In-Season Tournament.
