Wolf disturbed cattle in Ulrichsberg – farmer (44) injured by ox

A 44-year-old farmer reported that he was woken up by unusually loud cries from his cattle. When he and his intern checked on things around five o’clock, the animals in the pasture were completely excited.

Some ran into the nearby forest. While trying to catch an ox, the farmer was attacked and injured by the animal. When the man was already on the ground, the ox repeatedly hit his head once morest the defenseless 44-year-old. The farmer fell several meters down the meadow and suffered several bruises, which he had to be treated as an outpatient, according to police.

Wolf sighting in the forest

He suspects that the animals were made restless by a wolf. While looking for his cattle, he saw a young wolf in the forest and chased it away, said the Mühlviertler. The 44-year-old found his cattle unscathed in a clearing.

Emergency services from FF Ulrichsberg and FF Aigen helped to catch the startled animals.
