Wölbitsch: More than crooked optics at Wiener Stadtwerke

The appointment of the “new” leadership trio shows the city’s and the SPÖ’s lack of will to reform – nothing has been learned from the mistakes of the past

Vienna (OTS) “The appointment of a ‘new’ management trio at Wiener Stadtwerke, announced today by City Councilor Hanke, reflects the serious resistance to reform and the lack of error culture in the Vienna SPÖ,” said club chairman Markus Wölbitsch in a first reaction.

Especially now, in view of the massive turbulence surrounding Wien Energie, this order looks more than crooked. Above all, the investigative commission initiated by the Vienna People’s Party revealed that something is amiss here. It is more obvious that nothing has been learned from the mistakes of the past and that no structural reforms will be undertaken.

“Once once more you’re swimming in your own juice instead of getting to the root of the problem. The SPÖ mentality: `If we say nothing happened, then nothing happened` is once once more gaining the upper hand. It’s high time that the necessary professionalism finally returned here,” Wölbitsch concludes.
