Two lost years for climate protection and relief for people in the greater Vienna area

Vienna (OTS) – Alexander Klacska, chairman of the federal transport and traffic division in the Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ), describes the still missing gap in the gap as “two lost years for climate protection and two lost years to relieve the burden on people in the greater Vienna area.” S1, also known as Lobau Tunnel.

Not only that there is no alternative route to reach a freight station for the commercial areas north of the Danube – other than through the middle of the city. Although traffic might also be routed outside, it is also intentionally directed through the metropolis. “These are inefficiencies that counteract all of the mobility industry’s efforts to actively promote climate protection,” emphasizes Klacska. The fact that the Federal Ministry of Finance refers to the legal mandate is therefore a correct and important signal for the business location.

“It is time for Minister Gewessler to comply with the law. After all, this construction project is in the law and politicians are also required to adhere to the law,” says Klacska. (PWK485/ST)
