Smart lighting specialist WiZ has unveiled its new motion-sensing light bulb system, as well as an indoor camera.
Something to prepare for the summer holidays which are approaching in a slightly more serene way. The news connected light bulbs warn the owners in case of intrusion, but are also able to activate a series of measures such as flashing or bright lighting.
Two-in-one bulbs
The connected home is making progress every day. Each time, new options are offered to us in terms of controlling our equipment, from the light to the doorbell, through the heating or the shutters; and even the protocols are evolving, as with the arrival of Matter. Home security is central to this entire ecosystem. For many years, surveillance cameras and motion sensors have reduced the risk of burglaries and other intrusions.
Summer holidays are approaching, and with them the possible small lump in the stomach when you think of the possibility of an intrusion. WiZ, owned by the giant Signify, has designed a new home protection system for this purpose. On May 15, the brand will release new connected bulbs equipped with SpaceSense wifi motion detection technology. Each bulb then becomes a motion sensor in the house. Just set up a coverage area and anything passing through it when owners aren’t home will trigger a series of security measures to be set on the app.
Bright security
Thus, when a movement is detected, the system can, depending on what has been set, activate the maximum brightness of the bulbs or even make them flash. This feature is intended both to repel intruders, but also to warn people living nearby (neighbors or passers-by) that something abnormal is happening. Owners receive an alert on their smartphone. It is also possible to configure a routine to be activated during the absence. The lights can then turn on and off to simulate a presence in the house and thus prevent intrusions.
These smart bulbs come with a new indoor camera with 120 degree night vision. It allows you to send a video stream in HD to owners on the application in the event of an alert. It is also equipped with sound detectors that can recognize loud noises such as breaking glass and trigger the alert.
The camera will be sold from May 15 at €89.99 and the Home Monitoring starter kit, which includes three bulbs and a camera, will be launched the same day at €159.99.
