A WITNESS claims to have told officers that he saw the shooter moving “from rooftop to rooftop,” moments before the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. Trump was shot at a rally and campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday (7/13).
“The guy was moving from roof to roof. (I) told an officer that (the alleged shooter) was on the roof,” said eyewitness Ben Macer, who was along the fence when he saw the shooting.
“When I turned around to go back to where I was, that’s when the shooting started, and then everything went haywire, and we all ran away, and that was that,” Macer said.
Authorities have identified the shooter involved in the attack as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was shot and killed by Secret Service agents at the scene following the shooting occurred.
The FBI said he is a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania – regarding 35 miles south of Butler, where Trump held a campaign rally.
Investigation Still Ongoing
Authorities are conducting an intensive investigation to uncover the motive behind the attack and whether anyone else was involved in the incident.
Authorities also continue to examine all reports from witnesses and physical evidence at the scene to gather further information.
