KLAY Thompson scored 25 points with six 3-pointers, Andrew Wiggins added 19 points, as the Golden State Warriors beat the Utah Jazz 123-116 in the regular season finale. The win moved them into 10th place in the western region.

Steve Kerr firmly believes his team still has a chance to make a splash this postseason.

“We have a really good connection on this team, good chemistry, the players support each other. So I have a good feeling regarding what’s going to happen,” said Kerr.

“I think we still have a chance to do something special. Now, obviously, this is the NBA tournament, we have to get out of the first weekend here, win the first two games and advance to the first round, but we have a chance, so we’re very enthusiastic regarding it,” he added.

Golden State can only move up to eighth place if it wins and the Kings and Lakers lose.

Kerr rested Draymond Green and Curry, who had 74 regular season games and 2,421 minutes played. The Warriors are 1-3 on the season in games without Green and Curry.

In another game, Payton Pritchard scored a career-high 38 points and the NBA’s best team, the Boston Celtics, rested their entire starting lineup in a 132-122 win over the Washington Wizards.

Svi Mykhailiuk added 26 points and Sam Hauser 16 for Boston, which featured Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White and Jrue Holiday along with reserve Al Horford.

Pritchard added 12 assists with nine rebounds. In the final game of last year’s regular season, the 6-foot-1 player recorded a triple-double with 30 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists.

He grabbed his ninth rebound with 5:22 left in the game and played the remainder of the game.

“If it comes, I’ll take it. But I got it last year. I don’t feel pressured to get my first triple-double. I’m a pretty good rebounder. So if I get minutes, I think I’ll be able to get a triple -double once more,” Pritchard said. (NBA/Z-3)
