Asuncion, IP Agency.- The focus on improving health will continue tomorrow, Friday, at Expo2024 Mariano Roque Alonso, at the stand of the Ministry of Public Health located at the intersection of Calle E and Calle 3 of the fairgrounds. From 09:00 to 20:00, PRONASIDA area officials will focus on the prevention of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and other Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
Activities began on Thursday 11 with an educational day on zoonotic diseases, organized by the National Program for the Control of Zoonoses and the National Anti-Rabies Center. From 09:00 to 20:00, PRONASIDA will offer HIV and syphilis tests, as well as educational material on the prevention of STIs.
They include interactive sessions, monitoring and testing services, as well as promotion and prevention to improve health and quality of life. In addition, educational materials and gifts will be provided to participants of the “Special Health Days”, during these days with the different Health Surveillance programs.
On Tuesday, July 16, an educational session will be held on the harmful effects of vaping and other tobacco products on health, led by PRONATERC.
On Wednesday, July 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., food hygiene and foodborne illnesses will be addressed, with health professionals available to answer visitors’ questions.
Friday, July 19 will be a full day of activities with a demonstration of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Drug Enforcement Administration (AED) maneuvers, blood pressure monitoring, and distribution of educational materials. There will also be an informative talk on tuberculosis and recreational activities by the National Tuberculosis Control Program.
Finally, on Saturday, July 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Field Epidemiology Training Program (PEEC) will present experiences in research and training of field epidemiologists. Visitors will be able to learn regarding basic, intermediate and advanced training levels in epidemiology.
