Under the impetus of their teacher, Reia Tauru, the work entitled Au Fenua, was written and sung by CM1 Motu students from the Moenoa Tevaihopu school. Au Fenua is the first of two songs taken from an educational project carried out by the class. Beyond a class project, the music video was unifying, because it brought together the parents of the students, the school, the municipality, as well as several other partners.
This musical work is the culmination of an educational project carried out over several periods with the students. This work allowed them to express themselves through the production of writings, and musical and artistic education. It also made it possible to install a transversal axis in the program of their school year.
Indeed, this project also affects other disciplinary fields such as reading, history and geography, Polynesian languages and cultures, civic and moral education, physical and sports education, or even the introduction to information and communication technologies for education (ICTE).
Reia Tauru and the entire teaching team of GS Moenoa-Tevaihopu knew how to reveal in her students, the group spirit, the artistic spirit, and especially this spirit of pride in their Fenua. “When the child blossoms, the student blossoms”said Reia Tauru.
Approached by the class, Manuarii Bonnefin and his teams agreed to support the project, and thus produced the recording and video part. The 3-minute clip promotes their commune and shares life in Polynesia, through the eyes of these children.
