Dream destination Hawaii: We spent a week traveling with Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America from Honolulu to Maui, Kauai and Hawaii’s “Big” Island. In this podcast episode, we talk regarding the destination, how to get there, and of course the ship and what makes it special as the only major American-flagged cruise ship.

You can easily hop from island to island on a cruise ship without having to fly or change hotels. This is particularly practical with the Pride of America, as it is the only large cruise ship to depart from and to Honolulu without sea days on the way to or from the North American mainland. The American flag that makes this possible brings with it some key peculiarities that we talk regarding in detail in this podcast episode.

And of course we talk regarding Hawaii itself, the sights, the fantastic nature and the cultural character of the islands as an interesting combination of South Sea influences and American character.

In the “After Show” for this podcast episode, we talk regarding the currently very negative development of the shares of the large, listed cruise companies and the reasons for this. In addition, we briefly discuss the fact that German shipping companies are no longer required to wear masks on board.

The After Show is a special goodie exclusively for our supporters via Steadywhich we provide in our own small podcast. At Steady you will find as a subscriber a precise guide, how to subscribe to this podcast.
