While awaiting his extradition to Chile, the leader of the RAM (Mapuche Ancestral Resistance), Facundo Jones Huala, He was transferred to the Esquel Prison with the Gendarmerie in custody.

Jones Huala was arrested on Monday, January 30 in El Bolsón, for which Chile quickly made the extradition request for the activist to return to the Andean country to serve the sentence.

After arresting him, the leader of the RAM was left in charge of the Federal Justice. This way, it was decided that he spend his days in the penal unit 14 of Esquel.

Jones Huala was sentenced to nine years in prison.
