Our correspondent said, “The unified Friday prayer began in the capital, Baghdad, and in the provinces, with the exception of Basra.”
The director of al-Sadr’s office in Baghdad, Ibrahim al-Jabri, had confirmed that the unified Friday prayer is a ritual ordered by Sayyid Muhammad al-Sadr.
Al-Jabri said to Al-Sumaria, “We congratulate the Islamic world, Al-Hajjah bin Al-Hassan, and all believers in the world on the anniversary of the birth of Al-Zahra (peace be upon him). This anniversary is repeated, and this rite is the anniversary of the birth of Al-Zahra (peace be upon him).
He added, “These prayers that are held in the capital, Baghdad, and the provinces are nothing but a ritual ordered by Sayyid Muhammad al-Sadr.”
And Al-Jabri stated, “This prayer will not have any political aspects, only reviving a religious ritual.”
Al-Sumaria correspondent reported that worshipers continued to flock to Sadr City, east of the capital, Baghdad, to hold the unified Friday prayer, which the Sadrist movement announced to be held in Baghdad and all provinces except for Basra.
